Michigan Notable Book Author: Adam Schuitema

June 1st

Adam Schuitema

The Mackinaw Area Public Library is thrilled to announce our participation in the 2016 Library of Michigan Notable Books Tour. Please join us at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1st, to welcome Adam Schuitema, whose U.P.-set novel Haymaker has been named a 2016 Michigan Notable Book.

Our political culture is infused with debates about personal liberties, the role of government, and even the definition of “freedom” itself. Haymaker tells the story of an isolated Michigan town that becomes the flashpoint for these ideological conflicts. What happens when an Upper Peninsula community clashes with a determined group of outsiders? Join author Adam Schuitema as he reads from his latest book and discusses the origins of its story.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Schuitema at the library at 528 W. Central Avenue in Mackinaw City at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1.  For more details, contact the library by phone at 231-436-5451, by email at or see .  You can also “Like” us on Facebook.
